Karingal Place Neighbourhood Centre (KPNC) is a co-located Community and Family Hub providing services including:

  • Frankston City Council Maternal and Child Health Nurses
  • Community Kinders Plus Kindergartens
  • Frankston City Council Youth Hangout
  • Community/Neighbourhood House activities
  • Immunisation -- For all enquiries please phone Frankston City Council Immunisation Department on 1300 322 322

The centre is managed by Karingal Neighbourhood House Inc. (KNH) which is a community-managed not-for-profit organisation - and offers many programs and activities including Occasional Child Care, Educational Courses, support groups, Playgroups as well as many fee for service courses.

The Centre acts as a hub for the community where people can meet to participate in a variety of social, supportive and educational programs, activities and services.

KNH shares the building with some aspects of the Karingal Primary School while Frankston City Council operates Maternal and Child Health (MCH) program and Youth Services programs from the centre, and Community Kinders Plus operate the community kindergarten facility.

KNH manages the operation of a Registered childcare room (which is licensed for 20 children), a computer room, 2 meeting rooms, the sports hall and office space. We also provide reception services for the kindergarten, MCH and Youth Services.

KNH currently employs 3 part-time administration staff, 2 part-time childcare staff and several casual childcare workers and operates 7 days a week, with the office staffed between the hours of 8:45 am to 4:30 pm Monday and 8:45 am to 3:00 pm Tuesday to Fridays.

Karingal Place Neighbourhood Centre is proud to acknowledge the amazing work that is done daily by our many volunteers in their various roles. As a not-for-profit organisation, we could not operate without the commitment and hard work that is put in by our volunteers, both part-time and full-time. As such, we are always looking to welcome new and willing people to our team. You can ring the centre or just drop in during business hours, or contact us via the website.

Karingal Place Neighbourhood Centre receives funding from Frankston City Council and the Victorian State Government.

From time to time we need help at the centre with things we don't have the time or skill or capability to do. These tasks may include gardening, general handyman tasks, helping to move boxes or furniture around etc. If you would like to help us out occasionally, please let Ev know at reception.
The best way to see what activities and programs are in the works, is to keep an eye on our Proposed Activities section. Here you can express your interest in joining one of the listed activities and see how close it's coming to reaching minimum numbers - and therefore being held. You can find it under the Programs and Activities menu item at the top of the page.
We are often looking for volunteers to help out with various tasks and roles at the centre - including on our Committee of Management. Volunteering in your community is a great way to meet new people, take an active part in shaping what happens at your community centre, and making use of (and even improving) those skills you have but aren't currently putting to use. We are currently seeking a volunteer with a horticultural background to facilitate our proposed Gardening in Small Spaces free workshops. Please call Lauren on 8786 6651.
